Refined Xmas Bash
To say that we are in a fun industry is an understatement! We have so many personalities and there is so much that we can learn from each other.
ABOUT LAST NIGHT!
First of all, the US Grant is the venue that made me want to get into Wedding Planning, specifically the crystal ballroom. I always knew I would go back to this space and create something REFINED. It was such a treat being able to share my heart, with those I care about, in one of my favorite places: THE CRYSTAL BALLROOM! Such a fabulous and REFINED space. The perfect location for our workshop!
The evening started with a group of talented and beautiful people networking and connecting. I love surrounding myself with hard working entrepreneurs and this workshop allowed for such a great experience! We got to know each other while sippin’ on warm eggnog (so amazing with coffee, by the way), enjoying an array of delicious appetizers, and some colorful sweets from Frost Me Gourmet! We are always enjoying ourselves at REFINED events and know how to have a good time! Not to mention, we all definitely shimmied into our cocktail bests and came dressed to impress! LOVE MY FABULOUS TRIBE!
We began our workshop discussing so many important topics necessary to building a successful business such as…
- How to engage with the connection you need to succeed
- Prepping before networking and/or networking events
- Wow to get a like to a love- Follow ups
- Competitors or competition
- How to read between the lines
- Personal touches
- Time wasters
- Consistency
- Collaboration.
When going to a Networking Event you need to do your research:
- What is the target for this event
- Who is on the guest list
- What the dress code is
- Always do your research on the venue, the theme, the guests! The more you know, the better. Knowledge is empowering!
When reaching out to new connections it’s important to show your connection web aka who you both know, to be interested in THEIR dream, give them a compliment, make sure to add a personal touch, be genuine, and find some common ground to connect on.
I want to give a BIG thank you to Armando from Encore Entertainment for setting up the technological equipment! I am so thankful for this company that is always so supportive. We had a wonderful slide show, speakers, etc. all set up by Encore Entertainment!
Shout out to Laurie Nicould from The Creative Clique, who shared about vision boards, mood boards, font types, and branding colors. We all learned so much about the importance of branding and some of the big Dos and Don’ts! Laurie is such a wealth of knowledge.
We were also privileged to hear from David Jimenez Burgos who shared about Momento Weddings-- an interactive platform app for DAY OF communication between guests, vendors, bridal party, etc. I love learning about new ways to make my job easier, don’t you?!? It takes some serious skill and intelligence to create and build a platform and we are all so proud of you, David!! This is definitely something I will be using (and so will all of you)!!
And of course, no event is complete unless properly documented! Thank you Justice Photo for taking such beautiful photos. Sage, you always wow me with your ability to capture not just the scene, but the atmosphere.
I can’t wait to share with you what 2019 will hold for Refined and everyone who is a part of our tribe!
